Slipcover Grading Scale

1. Mint

  • Pristine condition — as close to brand new as possible.

  • No visible flaws, creases, edge wear, or discoloration.

  • Corners sharp, colors bold, gloss intact.

  • May still be in shrink wrap or handled minimally.

2. Excellent / Near Mint

  • Minimal wear — perhaps one or two very faint corner bumps or tiny surface marks.

  • No tears, stains, or warping.

  • Colors bright and artwork crisp.

  • Gloss or finish intact with little to no shelf wear.

3. Very Good

  • Light wear — minor corner dings, light scuffs, faint surface scratches.

  • No major tears or staining.

  • Colors still vibrant.

  • Small removable sticker or residue possible.

  • Displays well, but up close you’ll notice some imperfections.

4. Good

  • Moderate wear — smaller tears (under 2 inches), edge/corner rubbing, light to moderate creasing.

  • Slight fading from sunlight.

  • Small spots or blemishes but no large stains.

  • Fits case well and still presents decently on a shelf.

5. Fair

  • Major wear but still intact — tears over 2 inches, significant creasing, heavy edge wear.

  • Colors noticeably faded.

  • Possible moderate warping from moisture exposure.

  • May have price stickers or residue that can’t be cleanly removed.

6. Poor

  • Heavy damage — large tears, missing sections, or crushed areas.

  • Severe fading or water damage.

  • Writing, stains, or tape residue present.

  • May be warped or misshapen so it doesn’t fit snugly on the case.
