New York is gripped by fear and terror.

A series of mysterious and brutal murders leaves the NYPD baffled. More and more bodies are discovered, apparently killed in gruesome rituals. On the roof of the Chrysler Building, a flying creature appears and unleashes a bloodbath across the city.

The police discover that a cult is behind the murders. Through their human sacrifices, they have summoned an ancient Mexican deity that is now hunting the people of the metropolis.

American Monster is a B-movie in its ideal form. Cult director Larry Cohen (It’s Alive!) does not hide his flying monster from the audience. Instead, he lets the special-effects team, later known worldwide for Robocop and Ghostbusters, loose for a glorious creature-feature massacre.

A legendary cast including David Carradine (Kill Bill) and Richard Roundtree (Shaft) helps make American Monster the perfect cult film. A feast for genre fans, now finally celebrating its German Blu-ray premiere.
