New York in fear and terror!

A series of mysterious and brutal murders leaves the NYPD baffled. More and more bodies are turning up, apparently killed in gruesome rituals. On the roof of the Chrysler Building, a flying creature appears and leaves a bloodbath across the metropolis.

The police discover that a cult is behind the murders. Through their human sacrifices, they have summoned an ancient Mexican deity that is now hunting the residents of the city of millions…

AMERICAN MONSTER is a B-movie in its ideal form! Cult director Larry Cohen (It’s Alive!) does not hide his flying monster from the audience. Instead, he lets the special effects team — who would later achieve worldwide fame with RoboCop and Ghostbusters — loose for a glorious creature-feature massacre.

Of course, a cast of legends such as David Carradine (Kill Bill) and Richard Roundtree (Shaft) is also on hand, helping make American Monster the perfect cult film. A feast for genre fans, now finally celebrating its German Blu-ray premiere!
