St. Pauli, 1971. Rocker Gerd befriends 14-year-old apprentice Mark, whose older criminal brother Ulli has been violently killed. Mark is pulled out of his sheltered life and into Gerd’s world, traveling through Hamburg with his gang and becoming increasingly exposed to the city’s bikers, pimps, prostitutes and criminal underworld.

Klaus Lemke’s cult German television film was produced in 1971 and first broadcast in 1972. The film was shot largely around Hamburg’s St. Pauli district and famously used nonprofessional performers, including members of Hamburg biker culture.
