An anguished mother must navigate a netherworld of obsession, torment and summoned saints that will bring either true absolution or eternal damnation.
THE WORLDWIDE HOME VIDEO PREMIERE
Thirty years after his remarkable debut DARK WATERS, director Mariano Baino returns with this "masterful" (Culturopoing), "haunting" (L'Étrange Festival) and "visionary" (Nocturno) second feature, now presented on disc for the first time ever: Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni (OPERA, DEMONS 2) delivers an extraordinary performance as Astrid, an anguished mother who must navigate a netherworld of obsession, torment and summoned saints that will bring either true absolution or eternal damnation. Co-written, produced and designed by Baino and Cataldi-Tassoni over the course of a decade - with a stunning score composed by Coralina - this "out-of-the-ordinary, visually sumptuous and stylistically superb folk horror that deserves to be discovered" (Giona A. Nazzaro, FilmTV) is sanctified by over 3 hours of featurettes, short films and more that reveal the full story behind one of the most startling filmmaking comebacks of our time.
