Synopsis

Young con man Martin Taylor is hustling on the streets of London when he crosses paths with Tom Bates, a middle-class family man caring for his brain-damaged daughter, Pattie, following a hit-and-run accident. Seizing the opportunity, Martin pretends to be a former love interest of Pattie and manipulates his way into the family’s countryside home.

Quickly winning over Pattie’s mother, Norma, he convinces her to let him stay under the guise of caring for the girl—while Tom grows increasingly suspicious of his true intentions. As Martin embeds himself deeper into the household, it becomes clear that his motives are far more disturbing than anyone could have imagined.
