Before he went into the jungle for Cannibal Holocaust, director Ruggero Deodato had already shown a different type of savagery.
A crime wave is sweeping Rome, and no one is safe. Fighting back, the police take the gloves off. A special squad is formed to take down the criminals, and its members include a pair of fearless, reckless supercops played by Marc Porel (Don't Torture a Duckling) and Ray Lovelock (Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue). Licensed to do whatever they damn well want, they crush crime by any means necessary.
Kicking off with an all-time motorbike chase and then accelerating into even higher gears, Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man is one of the most infamous and brutal Italian cop films of the 1970s, showcasing Deodato's taste for going further than everyone else.
