Description
Manhunt reunites iconic actor Ken Takakura (A Fugitive from the Past, Black Rain, The Yakuza) with acclaimed action director Junya Sato (The Bullet Train) for a high-octane crime thriller that spans the length of Japan.
Fuyuto Morioka (Takakura), a chief prosecutor for the Ministry of Justice, is arrested for a crime he did not commit and escapes from custody. Pursued by a determined detective and two mysterious shotgun-wielding figures, Morioka begins investigating who wants him imprisoned.
His search uncovers a dark network of government and corporate corruption involving a dangerous mind-controlling drug developed by a sinister pharmaceutical company.
Featuring a star-studded cast of familiar Japanese actors, including Kunie Tanaka, Ryo Ikebe, and Ko Nishimura, Manhunt became a surprise box-office success and later inspired John Woo’s 2017 remake. The film is presented here in a brand-new high-definition restoration with its original lossless audio.
