Skilfully blending the unsettling tension of Creep with the dark satire of Man Bites Dog, while channeling the awkward chemistry of classic mismatched buddy movies, Stéphane is a darkly comic thriller that explores obsession, filmmaking, and deception.

When aspiring filmmaker Tim meets the eccentric Stéphane, he believes he has found the perfect creative collaborator. Claiming to be an experienced stuntman and special effects expert, Stéphane quickly impresses Tim with his homemade pyrotechnics and ambitious ideas. Together with Bianca, a selectively mute refugee actress, they travel to Stéphane's private island to produce an ambitious World War II film. As the project spirals out of control, hidden motives begin to surface, and the line between reality and performance becomes increasingly blurred.

Part found-footage experiment, part psychological thriller, and part black comedy, Stéphane delivers an unpredictable and increasingly disturbing journey that builds toward a chilling conclusion.
