Eureka Entertainment presents Ghouls Gone Wild, a collection of three outrageous tales of ghosts, magic, martial arts, and supernatural mayhem from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Making their UK Blu-ray debuts on October 19, 2026, as part of the Eureka Classics range, all three films are presented in 1080p HD from new 2K restorations.
Strictly limited to 2,000 copies, this two-disc edition is housed in an O-card slipcase featuring new artwork by Darren Wheeling and includes an exclusive collector’s booklet.
Following the success of groundbreaking genre films such as Encounters of the Spooky Kind, The Dead and the Deadly, and Mr. Vampire, supernatural horror became a major part of Hong Kong and Taiwanese cinema throughout the 1980s.
This collection brings together three standout films from that era, featuring stars such as Chow Yun-fat, Wu Ma, and Ricky Hui.
Scared Stiff
Directed by Lau Kar-wing, Scared Stiff follows an ordinary young man who develops the ability to enter other people’s dreams after an accident.
He soon finds himself using his strange new power to help bring a sadistic murderer to justice.
The set includes both the original Hong Kong theatrical cut and the uncut extended version.
The Haunted Cop Shop
Co-written by Wong Kar-wai and influenced by both Mr. Vampire and Fright Night, The Haunted Cop Shop follows police officers and criminals who are forced to confront vengeful supernatural beings inside a police station built on the site of a violent tragedy.
Magic of Spell
A supernatural wuxia fantasy in the tradition of The Miracle Fighters and Shaolin Drunkard, Magic of Spell follows a kung fu master who must defeat the infernal demon responsible for his mother’s death.
Blending comedy, horror, martial arts, and fantasy, these three films feature ruthless killers, restless spirits, vengeful jiangshi, and demonic forces.
Together, Scared Stiff, The Haunted Cop Shop, and Magic of Spell showcase the extraordinary range and imagination of Chinese-language horror cinema during the 1980s.
