Notorious rape-revenge horror I Spit on Your Grave (1978) was banned and condemned in multiple countries, earning it a badge as one of the most controversial films in horror history. In 2010, the film was remade, followed by two sequels, which continued the shocking display of sadistic, graphic assault and brutal survival for contemporary audiences.
