After Capt Shank is dishonorably discharged, he meets bikers, & gets caught up in the life he tried to escape becoming the target of a police manhunt.
In the gritty exploitation thriller Ride the Hot Wind, Tommy Kirk stars as Capt. Shank, a disgraced former military officer dishonorably discharged and cast adrift in a society that won't let him forget his past. Struggling to find a foothold, Shank falls in with a rough crowd of bikers and soon spirals into a chaotic lifestyle he tried desperately to leave behind. But redemption proves elusive, and the harder he tries to outrun his reputation, the closer he comes to becoming a target in an escalating police manhunt.
Directed by Duke Kelly, who also appears in the film, Ride the Hot Wind is a tightly wound 73-minute blast of early 70s grindhouse cinema. With its raw performances, desert settings, and anti-establishment tone, the film captures a specific moment in American independent filmmaking where counterculture themes clashed with law-and-order paranoia. Cheryl Waters co-stars in this tale of moral ambiguity, failed ideals, and explosive consequences.
This Blu-ray release features a brand-new scan from the original 16mm reversal element with full restoration and color correction.
