Synopsis
Street Trash (1987):
Liquor store owner Ed discovers several bottles labeled “Viper” hidden in his basement and sells the cheap booze to squatters living in a nearby junkyard. As the unhinged junkyard owner Bronson tries to eliminate his unwanted tenants, including brothers Fred and Kevin, “Viper” reveals its true nature — a deadly toxin that melts its victims into grotesque pools of slime.
Street Trash (2024):
Set in 2050 Cape Town, where violent clashes between the poor and authorities are routine, drug addict Ronald and his adopted daughter Alex uncover a chilling conspiracy. Mayor Mostert plans to “cleanse” the city’s homeless population using a corrosive gas derived from the original “Viper” formula. Joined by a group of insurgents, they rise against an overwhelming and brutal regime.
