The Lustful Turk + The Joys of Jezebel with Limited Edition Slipcase Blu-Ray

During the 1960s, producer David F. Friedman continued to push exploitation cinema toward more polished period pieces and costume comedies. Among his most elaborate productions were The Lustful Turk (1968) and The Joys of Jezebel (1969), both newly restored in 4K from their original 35mm camera negatives and presented on Blu-ray for the first time from Something Weird + Distribpix.

In The Lustful Turk, English aristocrat Emily Barlow is traveling to India with her handmaiden when their ship is overtaken by pirates. Taken to a remote palace, Emily finds herself trapped in a dangerous and unfamiliar world. Through letters written to her friend Sylvia back home, she recounts her experiences while quietly planning her revenge. Directed by Byron Mabe (She Freak), this lavish costume drama was written by Friedman himself and stars Linda Stiles (The Animal) and Harvey Shain (Fugitive Girls).

In The Joys of Jezebel, Jezebel arrives in the underworld and quickly makes a deal with Lucifer: she may return to Earth if she delivers the innocent Rachel to him. But Jezebel has her own plans, using her powers to switch places with Rachel and return to Earth to settle old scores. A colorful fantasy comedy from director Peter Perry (Kiss Me Quick), The Joys of Jezebel stars Luanne Roberts (101 Acts of Love) and Dixie Donovan (The Notorious Cleopatra).
