Two years have passed since top journalist John Klein lost his wife Mary in a tragic accident. He is still haunted by the memory of the eerie drawings of a macabre creature with piercing red eyes and moth wings, which Mary made on her deathbed. On his way to an assignment, he finds himself in the remote small town of Point Pleasant. There, he learns of a sinister figure with enormous wings. It is as if the Mothman wants to speak directly to him. But what does this messenger of death want to tell him?
